Pryda, namely Eric Prydz, is probably known by many for his 2004 hit single "Call on Me", which samples the Steve Winwood hit "Valerie". After the release, it hit the charts and topped the UK singles chart for five weeks and was number one on the German Top 100 for six consecutive weeks. However, the artist was bitter sweet about the success and Eric stopped playing it in his shows in an attempt to distance himself from it. He somehow has succeeded, and with his newer songs, Eric has gained recognition from both underground and mainstream fans.
Eric owns three highly respected electronic labels whose releases are in feverish demand, consistently selling huge quantities of vinyl. The labels are probably proving to be the most successful and forward thinking imprints in the electronic music world. To strengthen this, each label has been strictly developed to give Eric a platform to release his own productions without outside interference, simply his music on his terms. As mentioned earlier he wanted to step back after his previous successes and release music without schedules and pressure. Hence, he were able to control his own image & destiny, something extremely important for him and his artist profile. His labels were truly underground, doing scarcely any promotion, no press intrusion and true label/design identity… a formula which has proven remarkably successful!
His 3 track album "Choo" released in 21 November 2016 and as usual received very positive response from the fans.
