What is Mixing?

A flawless mixing process is undoubtedly an essential aspect of techno music production.

Mixing is always a slippery topic and could be hard to balance after long hours of working on the same track. A well-mixed track could be the difference between your song being overlooked or becoming a hit.

It is often suggested to let a professional do the mixing after you are ready with your track simply because after listening to your song over and over again while creating it, it is common that you lose you objectivity on it and your ears become numb to it.

Preparation

  • All stems must be in WAV format.

  • Make sure that you don’t have any FX on the master chain while exporting STEMS.

  • Make sure there is no clipping on your individual tracks or master output.

  • Make sure any 'normalize' feature is turned off in your DAW when bouncing stems.

  • Please combine stems into groups of similar sounds (synths, leads, bass, percussion, etc.).

  • All stems must be named accordingly.

You can use the free service WeTransfer to send the .zip folder to mercurialtones@gmail.com

It is up to you to decide how many hours I would probably need to mix your track. Remember, the longer the booking, the better the mix will be.

Never hesitate to contact me before you send your stems so we can make sure I have everything I need to make your track sound great!

Like Mercury, the planet, we are split into two. The half of us freezes in endless darkness, while the other half glitters with a perfect shade of orange under the rays of our one and only sun. We thus become the Mercurials. We live through different tones of life, swinging from ice to fire. Mercurial Tones is a music academy that seeks to unearth this cacophony of emotions so as to be able to express them without losing their overwhelming sway.
